FLINT is housed in a beautiful 14th Century building in the historic market town of Lewes and is a truly individual boutique. We set up shop in 2002 and since then have strived to find all sorts of wonderful, unusual and stylish things inspired by our love of travel. A carefully chosen collection of beautiful clothes, bags, scarves and shoes are upstairs on the first floor complemented by perfumes from boutique brands such as Miller Harris, Jardin d'Ecrivains, Cote Bastide together with natural skincare from This Works, Bamford and AS.AP Apothecary. Fresh flowers are available all year round, they're for sale on the ground floor where we offer our floristry service. We also sell an interesting, carefully edited selection of books and music and a range of homeware sourced from around the world.

Our website is a just a taste of what we do - we hope you can come and visit us someday...

Birch & Brook Candles

October 26, 2014

Our favourite candle company, Birch & Brook, have added two new fragrances to their current collection of three, and I'm proud to say all are available on our website as from today. I'm burning 'Festival' as I write this, and loving it - and it's taking me back to summer days and muddy days, a mixture of sweet and sour. It's the most perfect laid back yet energising scent, and I'm wondering how on earth these clever guys manage to capture a mood so brilliantly.. September 19, 2014

His work has taken us from the whimiscal sketches of his beloved dogs, the acutely observed drawings of everyday folk doing everyday things and the majestic landscapes of the local places that he holds dear but this show reached out further,...

The Perfumes of Jardin D'Ecrivains

April 28, 2014

My current obsession is a perfume by a woman inspired by her love of gardens and literature. Anais Biguine took her passion for literature to a new level when she created her company, Jardin D'Ecrivains - literally translated as the garden of writers. Her collection of five fragrances, George, Wilde, Orlando, Gigi and a cologne called La Dame aux Camellias, are as unusual as they are beautiful and having tested all of them, Wilde wins hands down - at the moment... The thing is, each one is so different from the next, and like most perfumes, appeal at different times according to your mood however, the really wonderful thing about these fragrances is the back story, the story behind each...
