FLINT is housed in a beautiful 14th Century building in the historic market town of Lewes and is a truly individual boutique. We set up shop in 2002 and since then have strived to find all sorts of wonderful, unusual and stylish things inspired by our love of travel. A carefully chosen collection of beautiful clothes, bags, scarves and shoes are upstairs on the first floor complemented by perfumes from boutique brands such as Miller Harris, Jardin d'Ecrivains, Cote Bastide together with natural skincare from This Works, Bamford and AS.AP Apothecary. Fresh flowers are available all year round, they're for sale on the ground floor where we offer our floristry service. We also sell an interesting, carefully edited selection of books and music and a range of homeware sourced from around the world.

Our website is a just a taste of what we do - we hope you can come and visit us someday...

Spring Season at FLINT

March 16, 2015

Finally, the evenings are lighter, the air feels softer, Spring is on its' way. I find this time of year is all about hitting refresh. Whether it's flushing out the wardrobe, trying a new look, getting a radical haircut or simply changing the furniture around, we're all doing it. Packing away the knitwear and coats feels like a positive step and a sign of the summer to come, but we're still in that in-between phase, we're not quite ready yet. This is the time however, to visit the store. Our new Spring collections are arriving week by week and there's no better time to catch the best bits before they fly. Savvy customers get in quick! Two new labels to...

Birch & Brook Candles

October 26, 2014

Our favourite candle company, Birch & Brook, have added two new fragrances to their current collection of three, and I'm proud to say all are available on our website as from today. At this time, each year, Julia and I head to Paris to scour the flea markets, brocantes and trade shows in the search of unusual treasures for our shop, in time for our busiest season. Its also a fantastic opportunity to meet up with our long-standing suppliers - to share a drink and a chat over current trends, swapping ideas over business and the time to reassess...

Tom Homewood at FLINT

June 09, 2014

So this month saw the opening of our latest exhibition by a true local treasure who continues to go from strength to strength, artist Tom Homewood. After months of meticulous preparation on his part and anticipation on behalf of us and our customers, he didn't disappoint. In fact, it's fair to say that in our eyes, this latest collection - Coast and Country - is his best yet. We've been happily showing Tom's work for a few years now. His work has taken us from the whimiscal sketches of his beloved dogs, the acutely observed drawings of everyday folk doing everyday things and the majestic landscapes of the local places that he holds dear but this show reached out further,...
