Autumn Styling by FLINT

A couple of weeks ago our little team got together again and created some more magic.. Aesme Flowers, photographer Kristen Perers and of course, Annie our beautiful model, styled in some key pieces of our Autumn/Winter collection, at the stunning location we go back to time and time again, The Secret Garden at Woodshed, a magical place, open for workshops and retreats, in the heart of Sussex.

The garden here is truly special, a place of contrasts. Wooded, shady areas give way to wild meadows bordered by rows of dark leafy trees, fields and farmland beyond.

A barn covered in a cascade of red leaves provided the perfect backdrop to a clashing burnt orange cashmere jumper from Cocowai paired with Sula pants in a deep blue and alpaca socks in charcoal grey.

A pair of canvas pants paired with a handknitted jumper from Sula made of a beautifully soft undyed wool was the perfect foil to these incredible vessels by ceramic artist Viv Lee.

Tall trees and wooded areas shelter carpets of wild cyclamen and ferns and inspired us to build bonfires and light sparklers as the light faded. Aesme created a divine little coronet for Annie to wear, using feathers and delicate seed heads and wired diamante beads. Paired with a long herringbone overcoat over a canvas cotton Sula dress, the contrast was exquisite.

I took along some of our best loved pieces from the Autumn collections and although the weather was glorious, we felt a definite turn in the air. One of my favourite looks was this supple and soft navy blue corduroy suit from East by East West..The jacket and pants make the perfect trans-season pieces to take you through the chillier months ahead.

We were all so drawn to the woods at the bottom of the meadow. As the light faded and the crows took off for their roosting spots, Kristen found the perfect tree for our final location. The glossy black leaves contrasted brilliantly with the smock dress I'd brought along from Sula. Annie's holding Aesme's magnificent wreath of twisted vines, rosehips and seed heads.

Another wonderful day spent with those I love and admire, it doesn't get much better..
